Nuance Names Michael Rich to Lead Document Imaging Division
April 24, 2012
Nuance Communications Inc. has announced Michael Rich as senior vice president and general manager of the company's Document Imaging Division. Rich succeeds Robert Weideman, who has been named to lead Nuance's Enterprise Division. Both Rich and Weideman report to Paul Ricci, Nuance's chairman and chief executive officer.
Most recently, Rich was senior vice president of worldwide sales for Document Imaging and Dragon, where he made significant contributions by strengthening Nuance's sales management and processes. He has been a senior executive for more than 25 years and has held executive roles with AT&T and NetSpeak. He also has more than 10 years in document imaging solutions, including president and chief executive officer at Equitrac.
Under Weideman's tenure, Nuance's Document Imaging Division business was transformed from a desktop software business into a provider of enterprise document automation and workflow solutions. Nuance's document imaging portfolio includes Nuance eCopy ShareScan scanning and workflow solutions, Equitrac print management and cost recovery software, and Nuance OmniPage, PaperPort, PDF Converter Professional and eCopy PDF Pro Office desktop applications.
"Nuance Document Imaging is committed to delivering the industry's most integrated solutions that streamline scan, print and PDF workflows and help our partners achieve greater differentiation in customer engagements," Rich said. "I look forward to working with our many valued partners to create growth in our businesses by helping our customers increase worker productivity, automate business processes and reduce costs."
