Visioneer Launches “Where There Is a Need” Charitable Program

Updated program dedicated to helping the people and places in the world that are the most in need.
PLEASANTON, Calif., October 11, 2011 – Visioneer, Inc., a leader in intelligent document imaging solutions announced today the launch of a new philanthropic program that will help worthy organizations across the globe that provide assistance to people and places in need. For every customer who registers a Visioneer or Xerox® DocuMate® scanner, Visioneer will donate $1 to an international disaster relief, cause, or environmental program each quarter on their behalf. The first cause to be helped in the fourth quarter of 2011 is Kids Kidney Research. Both Visioneer and our customers can now have a direct impact on helping individuals in need around the world.
“The goal of “Where There Is a Need” is to embrace responsibility for our company’s actions and encourage a positive impact through our activities on the people that develop, manufacture and sell our products, the businesses and families that use our products, and the communities and environment we all live and work in,” said Greg Elder, Visioneer’s CFO and Sustainability Officer. “It is our goal that Visioneer’s social responsibility is not merely words on our website, but a fundamental part of how we conduct our business, make decisions, and set our priorities.”
Kids Kidney Research Kidney disease is debilitating at any time. When it involves babies and children, families suffer too. It can be devastating for everybody concerned. 10% of children with renal failure and 1% of all babies born in the UK suffer from vesicoureteric reflux, a condition where infected urine can pass from the bladder back into the kidneys, thereby permanently damaging them.
